Here are Charities that are close to my heart
I am either active or support the following charities.
NATIONAL FOUNDATION FOR CANCER RESEARCH

After battling cervical cancer for 2 1/2 years and winning this past February (2008). It's important that we take time to learn more about cancer and make others aware. This has been a life changing experience for me. 2008 is a new chance at life!
RACE to ERASE MS FOUNDATION

I have had the pleasure to meet and work with a great friend of mine, Nancy Davis. Nancy is the founder of the Race to Erase MS Foundation. Multiple Sclerosis is an autoimmune condition for which we have not found a cure for. My mother and I have close friends who battle with MS daily. Please be generous and donate-- www.erasems.org!
MICHAEL J. FOX FOUNDATION for Parkinson's Disease

Last fall ('07), my grandfather was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease. Parkinson's Disease is a degenerative disorder of the central nervous system that often impairs the sufferer's motor skills and speech.
However, upon further testing, the doctors were wrong in my grandfather's case. My grandfather has a rare disease known as- Multiple System Atrophy, is a fast-progressing neurodegenerative disease marked by a combination of symptoms affecting movement, blood pressure, and other body functions. The disease is commonly mis-diagnosed. My grandfather went from walking by himself in October 2007 to being only able to walk using a walker. The life expectancy is 2-3 years. There are medicines on the market that can only treat the symptoms of MSA. Help us find a cure!
